Antique 1913 The House of the Seven Gables book by Nathaniel Hawthorne, author of The Scarlet Letter. The cover pictures the antique house next to a couple of trees. There are black and white illustrations from photographs of the home interior throughout the book.

This novel follows a New England family and their ancestral home. The setting for the book was inspired by the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion, a gabled house in Salem, Massachusetts, belonging to Hawthorne's cousin Susanna Ingersoll, as well as ancestors of Hawthorne who had played a part in the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. 

There is some wear and discoloration/fading to the cover, spine, and pages due to age but overall this book is still in good condition. Book measures about 7.75" x 5" x 1.5".
