Antique Emerson's Essays book by Ralph Waldo Emerson. This Hurst & Company edition has a pretty blue and white cover with the image of a girl in a hat.
The essays include Self-Reliance, Compensation, Spiritual Laws, Love, Friendship, Prudence, and Heroism.
There is no publication date in this book, but there is an inscription from 1939 although I think this was published in the early 1900s. Cover, spine, and pages have wear and discoloration due to age. There are also a couple things written in pencil towards the front and back. Please note that photo may appear brighter than actual book. The book measures about 6" x 4".
