Rare antique edition of Harriet Beecher Stowe's book Uncle Tom's Cabin or, Life Among the Lowly. This book is a lovely Hurst & Co edition with a light blue, gold, and white floral cover.
Stowe's novel became a turning point for the abolitionist movement; she brought clarity to the harsh reality of slavery in this book that inspired many to join anti-slavery movements.
There is no copyright date, but there is a faded inscription in the front from 1912. There is wear and discoloration on the cover, spine, and pages due to age. Please note that the cover is loose and all pages are beginning to detach from the spine. The book measures about 8" x 5.5" x 1.25". Photos may appear brighter than actual book.
A portion of the sale of this book will be donated to the Equal Justice Initiative (eji.org).
