This listing is for the 1899 Military Heroes of the United States from Lexington to Santiago book by Hartwell James. This antique book has an attractive Henry Altemus cover and spine with silver letters and soldier and flower art. There are also 94 black and white illustrations within.
Altemus' Young People's Library book covers such historical figures as Paul Revere, George Washington, Ethan Allan, Andrew Jackson, Ulysses S. Grant, Theodore Roosevelt, and many more. This would be a nice Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, Father's Day, or birthday gift for anyone interested in the military, history, or antique books.
There is wear, discoloration/fading on the cover, spine, and pages due to age. There is a little separation of the pages from the spine (pictured) around pages 32-33, but all pages are still in tact. The book measures about 6.5" x 5.25". Please note that photos may appear brighter than actual book.
