Vintage 1968 Cape Cod book by Henry David Thoreau. This is a stunning green leather and gold gilt Heritage Press edition. The beautiful gold gilt design frames the inside of the book as well.
This book includes Thoreau's recorded adventures including chapters on The Shipwreck, Stage-Coach Views, The Plains of Nauset, The Beach, The Wellfleet Oysterman, The Beach Again, Across the Cape, The Highland Light, The Sea and the Desert, and Provincetown. There are lovely illustrations by R. J. Holden throughout the book as well.
There is wear and discoloration on the cover, spine, and pages due to age. No writing inside that I could find. The book is larger than usual and measures about 10.5" x 7" x 1". Please note that photos may distort the color of the book a bit, this book is a pretty bright green color.
