Rare antique The Works of William Shakespeare book with Life and Glossary. Prepared from the texts of the First Folio and the Quartos, published by Frederick Warne and Co. This book includes a Memoir of Shakespeare as well as his famous comedies, histories, and tragedies such as The Tempest, Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet, Othello, Romeo and Juliet and so many more.
This is probably the nicest book I've had in my possession. It has a gorgeous leather bound decorative cover that is a dark red color with gold gilt on the front and spine as well as marbled pages. The photos don't do it justice because it's a truly substantial and unique book and would be a wonderful addition to any collection!
There is no publish date in this book, but it was likely published in the 1890s. There is a book plate from 1900. There is wear and discoloration on the cover, spine, and pages due to age, but overall this book is still in really good condition. Book measures about 7.5" x 5.5" x 2".
