Antique Black Beauty book by Anna Sewell published by Hurst & Company. This book has a lovely dark red and green cover.
This children's book was Sewell's only novel and was meant to promote the humane treatment of horses. It is narrated by Black Beauty as he is owned by kind masters, then sold to cruel owners, and then eventually goes to kind owners again and recovers from poor treatment. This would be the perfect gift for anyone who loves horses or horseback riding.
There is no copyright date in this book, but it was likely published in the early 1900s. There is wear/discoloration/bumping to the cover, spine, and pages due to age but all pages are still in tact. The book measures about 6" x 4.25". Please note that photos may appear brighter than actual book.
