Rare antique The Scarlet Letter book by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The HM Caldwell cover and spine are stunning with a gold, green, and iris flower design. There are also a couple of black and white illustrations within.
The Scarlet Letter explores guilt, revenge, and redemption in 17th century Boston (or the Puritan Massachusetts Bay Colony).
There is no date in this book, but it was published in the late 1800s or early 1900s. It is a beautiful book to display, with some wear and discoloration on the cover, spine, and pages due to age. A couple of pages are bent or torn, but all pages are in tact. The book measures about 6.5" x 4.25". Please note that photos may appear brighter than actual book.
